Being in the DJ game your alway’s looking for other things you could do with music, and remixing tracks is usually one of them, the most common form of a remix is taking a beat from another song and an acapella from another and mashing them together to make a new version of the song.
So for the example I have these two video’s:
The song in case is Common - I used to love H.E.R.
The first one is the original track with the original beat, A dope chill classic hip hop track if was to be played all the OG hip hop heads would go crazy cause it’s a classic.
The second video is a nice mashup/remix with a jazz beat from a japanese artist, the DJ/producer speeds up the track and aligns the beat with the acapella to make it sound like the track was made for this beat and you get a dope remix.
Very inspiring hearing other peoples remixes/mashups/blends whatever you want to call it, and it gives me ideas on making my own, always a work in progress and fun to make.
So look out cause I have a bunch of new remixes planned and will post when I finish them.
